DJ Anas Canon & Kumasi collaborate with Tunisia's El Général on the new Remarkable Current release: "Pick Up The Pieces"

Remarkable Current's Hip Hop Ambassadors were invited by the US Embassy in Tunisia to tour the country, in an effort to raise awareness among young voters using hip hop as the medium to deliver the message and get people excited about voting," shares Anas Canon, in an interview about his collaboration with the Tunisian rapper, El Général.  The embassy liaison helped RC connect with local MC's while on tour and shared the compelling story of El Général's musical influence in Tunisia and throughout the Arab Spring, getting jailed for his lyrics, and having his songs become anthems for the revolution.

"I was reflecting on being in Tunisia at a time when nations were vying for resources and power, and how so few make the decisions that ultimately effect life for so many everyday people.  Working class people are always the ones left to build the bridges that connect and support one another in order to establish better societies."
